The hinges on the doors are getting oiled as we speak as it's only just over two weeks until we throw open our doors for Ouseburn Open Studios. This annual cultural weekend is a real must for anyone interested in meeting the artists, designers and craftspeople who use this building to let their imaginations and skills come to life.

Get here early on preview night to grab a bargain with our unique exhibition of original 20cm x 20cm artworks (paintings, ceramics, textiles, glass, wood, drawings, collage and mixed media) that are on sale for the unbelievably bonkers price of only £20!!!! 

This open studios weekend is all about encouraging people to come and find out for themselves what makes creative people tick, chat to them about their work and buy or commission something that is beautifully handcrafted with love and care.

If you've not been to our open studios weekend before then you're in for a real treat....and if you have, we've got even more to stimulate your creative tastebuds this year with work from
twenty exceptionally talented people. Phew!!! After all of that you can hang out and relax with a drink (alcoholic on the Friday / tea or coffee on the Saturday and Sunday) and begin thinking about where to put your new purchase.....

Mushroom Works are excited to be once again taking part in this year’s Ouseburn Open Studios. This unique annual open studios weekend invites you to come and meet the creative people that work here. We'll have lots of affordable work to browse and buy from painter’s to furniture-makers, potters to jewellery-makers, illustrators to product designers and much more!!!

Get here early on the Friday and grab (literally!) yourself a bargain when we preview our 20x20 exhibition of original artworks created by some of the region’s most sought after artists and makers. All 20x20 artworks (measure 20cm by 20cm) will be on sale for only £20! Enter our prize draw and you’ll have the chance to win one of our exclusive 20x20’s.

As it proved so popular last year, we’ll be handing over our back gallery space to the creative people from our two other studio sites who'll showcase work to buy or commission.
This weekend is a fantastic opportunity for you to come and meet these artists and designers face-to-face and find out what they get up to. There's so much to see, buy or commission and once you've done all that why not simply sit back and relax with some homemade refreshments courtesy of our cosy café.

A free shuttle bus service will be running over the open studios weekend around each of the open studios venues.

If that’s not enough to satisfy your creative appetite, you’ll be able to grab yourself even more bargains in the New Year when we’ll be having our ‘Super Sales’ weekend. Get yourself down to our sales preview on Friday 10th January, 6 – 8pm. There'll be lots of super sales bargains on offer over Saturday 11th & Sunday 12th January, 10am – 5pm.

Mushroom Works’ newest tenants, Muddy Fingers Pottery

are all unpacked and settled into their studios. Now that they’re in, Marv and Diane are eager to make themselves known to everyone and let more people know what they do.

As a nice icebreaker, they are having a launch night at Mushroom Works on Friday, 12th July between 6 – 8pm. Marv will be doing a quick demonstration of his skills on the potters wheel and will tell you how you can get your hands dirty too.

Muddy Fingers Pottery will be running regular night classes (for novices and more accomplished hands) on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings between 6pm – 8:30pm. Their new round of classes start on 16th July, so get in touch and get booked onto one of these nights. There’ll also be lots of tenant's work for sale around the building at fantastically affordable prices.
